My Favorite Kenai Peninsula Food & Drinks

Dining on the Peninsula can be an adventure! Since we spend our days fishing and enjoying gourmet seafood at home, I’m always on the hunt for delicious non-fish options. When you’re hauling in 200 lbs of fish a season, you start to crave variety. Here are my favorite local spots—including some new discoveries I'm excited to share. This list evolves every summer, so stay tuned for updates!

Cooper's Landing

Cooper Landing Brewing Company

This newcomer has quickly become my go-to first stop on the Peninsula after flying into Anchorage. I love the vibe they’ve created—the outdoor atmosphere is perfect for settling into an Alaska summer. Be sure to grab a pint of their Quartz Creek IPA; it’s my favorite!

Soldotna

Kenai River Brewing Company

This is my favorite restaurant on the Peninsula! I love the outdoor seating and the Honeymoon Hefe. My hubby says they have the best wings in the world., but I always get the Poutine.

The Bridge Lounge

I’m highlighting this spot for one reason: the incredible back deck. It offers an unbeatable view of the Kenai River, making it the perfect place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a well-made cocktail while taking in the scenery.

Kenai

The Flats Bistro

When I lived between Kenai and Soldotna, this was our go-to spot for special occasions. It’s a favorite for a reason—the food is as memorable as the beautiful view.

Mainstreet Tap & Grill

This is my go-to for a solid meal at a reasonable price. It holds a special place in my heart, too—I used to play live music here back when I performed as "Kenai Katie." It’s a great, dependable spot on the Peninsula.

The Upper Deck

I fly in and out of the Kenai Airport regularly, and I’ve made it a tradition to wait for my flights here. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with an excellent cocktail while enjoying the fantastic views from the rooftop bar.

Tustumena

The Big T

This is my second-favorite place to eat on the Peninsula! I’m a huge fan of their lumpia and pancit, and the Filipino women who run the place are simply the best. It’s a local staple—I’ve even run into Jonathan Hillstrand here on a few occasions!

Seward

Tidewater Taphouse

I love the funky, eclectic interior of this place—it has such a great, laid-back vibe. It’s become a favorite stop of mine in Seward, especially when I’m craving their Bulgogi, which is absolutely amazing. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just to soak up the atmosphere, it’s a spot that always delivers.

The Yukon Bar

This historic spot isn’t a place to grab dinner, but it is one of the best places on the Peninsula to experience the local scene and catch some incredible live music. Pull up a stool, grab a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Homer

Salty Dawg Saloon

This Homer icon is the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the charter boat. It’s definitely "no frills" inside, but that’s the charm. It’s a legendary local hangout with an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else. If you're looking for a spot that feels like a true piece of Alaska, this is a must-visit.

Finn's Pizza

A quintessential stop whenever I’m out on the Spit. They serve up fantastic wood-fired pies, but I’m personally hooked on their Blue Pear Pizza—it’s a unique, must-try flavor combination. If you're looking for something comforting, their polenta casserole is also absolutely delicious.

Shiva Boom

This is a must-visit Homer food truck since it has the highest ratings in Homer. As a huge Mediterranean fan, I’ve been dying to try their fresh, vibrant bowls and wraps. I'll let you know what I think after the summer of 2026. I hope it's as good as it looks online.

Alaskan Favorites for the Road

Alaskan Seltzer

These are hands-down the best seltzers I’ve ever tasted. I’m completely obsessed—so much so that I pack a cooler full of them to bring home to Michigan every summer. They’re brewed with Sitka spruce tips, which gives them a crisp, refreshing flavor that is perfect for nights by the campfire. Best of all, they don't leave me with that sugary stomach ache like other seltzers do. They are absolutely delicious and incredibly drinkable.

Alaska Chip Company

These are my go-to road trip snack. They’re kettle-cooked, and the crunch is unmatched. I’m hooked on their Sea Salt & Vinegar chips—the perfect amount of tang and totally addictive. I pick them up at the Three Bears in Soldotna or Ninilchik, and I always keep a bag in the truck while exploring the Peninsula!
